B i o g r a p h y

Igor Szeligowski started to study French Horn with Krzysztof Drumiński and then continued studying with Czesław Czopka. He studied at the Academy of Music in Wrocław in Ryszard Kurzak’s class and in Profesor Jan Jeżewski’s class. He took part in the International Horn Workshop at Eastman School of Music in Rochester supervised by W. VerMeulen, J. Decker, J. Thatcher and Ch. Kovalosky.


He is the laureate of the Ist Award in the Wind Instruments Contest (Zielona Góra, 1993) and the 3rd Award in the French Horn Contest in Łódź. Between 1995 and '96 he was a French horn player at the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw.
 

From 1996 to 2006 he was the 1st French horn player at the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw. Since 2004 he has been the 1st French horn player at the ORCHESTRA OF THE TEATR WIELKI - POLISH NATIONAL OPERA in Warsaw. In 1999 he became the 1st French horn player of the Polish Festival Orchestra founded by Krystian Zimerman. Between 2010 and 2011 he was the 1st French horn player of Teatro Municipal de Chile. He is a member of the classic brass quintet Varsovia Nova and the French horn quartet Mazo Horn Quartet. He collaborates with Sinfonietta Cracovia, Sinfonia Varsovia, Concerto Avenna, Pomorska Philharmonic Orchestra and Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra.

For the last few years he has been a teacher of the French horn workshops in Poland called "Teremiski Horn Camp" inside a heart of Białowieża Forest
 

He uses S.W.Lewis and Engelbert Schmitd French horns.
